A 22-year-old woman from Simdega was trafficked and sold in Rajasthan for Rs 3 lakh and has been rescued by Jharkhand Police. This woman was taken from the Kurdeg police station area in Simdega district by a man in 2023 to Delhi from a neighbouring village who promised her a job. Ranvir Singh, DSP, said this woman was employed first as a domestic help in Delhi through a placement agency. While she was walking near Anand Vihar bus stand, a couple from Meerut took her with them and later sold her for Rs 3 Lakh to a family near the India-Pakistan border. The woman had to face torture from the family and gave birth to a child. The woman tried to contact her mother, and after that, her parents then lodged an FIR at the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit police station on 20th May in Simdega. A special police team was formed to rescue the woman and bring her home safely.
