Nitish Kumar wrote in a post, "We worked so many years hard to serve the Bihar people. We had now decided to step down from the post of Bihar chief minister, and so after today's cabinet meeting, we met the Honourable Governor and submitted our resignation. Now the new chapter begins as the new government will take over. I will support the new government and provide my full cooperation. A lot of good work will be done ahead, and Bihar will develop in the coming years.
His departure marks the end of an era, as his supporters called for good governance, and leaves Samarat Choudhary to meet considerable expectations.
