Senior Executives of the Reliance Anil Ambani Group, Gautam Doshi and Sateesh Seth, are being arrested by the ED under the 2002 Prevention of Money Laundering Act in connection with separate investigations involving Reliance Communications and Reliance Infrastructure Ltd.
Doshi was arrested in a Reliance Communications Ltd. case. In contrast, Seth was arrested under PMLA in a Reliance Infrastructure Ltd. case. Doshi played a major role in creating corporate structures used to divert proceeds of crime from Reliance Telecom and Reliance Communications. Seth has been working for the company for the past 20 years and has occupied a senior position across the power and infrastructure business.
Doshi looked after risk management, planning functions, compliance and taxation and served as an authorized signatory for multiple overseas and Indian entities. Seth was presented before the Special Court in New Delhi, which remanded him to six days ED custody. Doshi was remanded for five days into ED custody, and further investigation is being conducted according to the ED statement.
