The Indian government has imposed a temporary ban on the messaging platform Telegram to prevent the spread of a fake paper for the NEET-UG 2026 examination. For a week, authorities have directed Telegram to disable its messaging feature in India.

Also, Telegram has announced it has blocked 109,351 terrorist-related communities in 2026. Also, one of the users wrote on X, Telegram trolling on the Indian govt was not on my list. On which Telegram said, Weren't on mine either. CEO of Telegram, Pavel Durov, said that a one-week ban has punished more than 150 million users, and this ban has not stopped anything; rather, the paper leak has moved to other apps.
