Jharkhand gets a new Lokayukta on Tuesday. Governor Kumar Gangawar administered the oath of a retired High Court judge of Jharkhand, Justice Gupta, as the new Lokayukta at the Lok Bhavan.
After five years, the position of Lokayukta was filled in Jharkhand. The state government was asked to accelerate the process. This oath-taking ceremony of the new Lokayukta appointment was attended by Chief Minister Soren.
Justice Kumar Gupta has completed his LLB and post-graduation from Delhi University, and his career started in 1997 as a member of the Bihar Superior Judicial Service. Later, he was in the Jharkhand High Court and retired in 2021, and was appointed to the Lokayukta position in Jharkhand.
