While the preparations for Shravani Mela have started, healthcare professionals are raising concerns over the pending travelling allowance and daily allowance from previous years. Jharkhand State Multipurpose Health Worker Employees have written a letter to the Director General of the Health Department on this issue. Pawan Kumar, State President, said that 40 healthcare workers have been requested for Shravani Mela duty from each district. But every year, the same old names are repeated. From 2016, healthcare workers' daily and travel allowance is pending, according to the employee union. Every worker’s 20-day duty allowance is Rs 20,000, but it’s still pending. The union has said that if the old employees are assigned duty and the pending allowances aren’t paid this time, they will protest. In such a scenario, the union said that the health departments will be responsible for any law and order problem in this matter.
